At GREENFIELD PROPERTIES we believe that building extends beyond the concept of walls and a roof.  We are dedicated to creating vibrant, sustainable urban habitats, which create equilibrium between environmental resources, economics and social systems.  Drawing on 30 years of experience in the construction industry, we aim to set new standards of excellence in construction.  Our philosophy of building is centered on the concepts of balance.  We achieve this through a two-fold approach: creating balance in individual life through the use of Maharishi Vastu, and balancing our relationship to the greater environment through Eco Architectural Design. We are committed to creating high quality, reliable construction, built to last a lifetime.

MAHARISHI VASTU

Maharishi Vastu, is a building system with roots in ancient India which was brought to the western world in the mid 90’s by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.  Maharishi Vastu is the science of building in harmony with nature, and emphasizes three key principles: right direction, right placement of rooms, and right proportion.  These principles are largely based on the energy of the sun and the effect it has on the human physiology.  For example, as the sun moves across the sky, it radiates different qualities of energy at different times of the day, which trigger a specific response in the body.  By properly dimensioning rooms and allowing for the appropriate quality of sunlight according to the rooms purpose, we are able to enhance health, mental clarity, and creativity.

ECO ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

Greenfield Properties recognizes that the forthcoming generation of buildings are energy producers rather than consumers.  Through a combined effort of resource conservation methods and integrated renewable technologies, which make use of widely available ambient energy, we can demonstrate the positive, widespread effect of decentralized, renewable power production in the environmental and socioeconomic arena.  We are applying the principles of energy efficiency and renewable energy to both our new construction, and retrofitting our existing commercial construction.
